As spring begins for us here in the northern hemisphere, the length of daylight rapidly increases the temperature warms significantly causing new plant growth. Snow begins to melt and streams swell with runoff and spring rains. Most flowering plants bloom this time of year, in a long succession beginning even when snow is still on the ground, and continuing into early summer. In the southern hemisphere March is not spring time. In the Antarctic spring as we know it has a whole different meaning as it does in the Amazon jungle.
So as we go into new seasons we need to remember we are not all at the same place even though we are all on the same day.
