GOAL!!!!!

Last month I achieved two goals one a long term goal – to climb Mt St Helens, the other a short term goal – read the Bible through in one month. With both goals I had to make intentional choice with my time, energy and resources to see them both through to the end

I’m a goalie, no not a net minder on a soccer field or an ice arena, but a person that thrives in a life with goals. I set goals professionally, personally, financially, physically. I am a goalie. Give me a goal and I will determine the objectives that need to be made to achieve that goal.

If there is no goal I tend to lose focus and interest. I don’t wander well.

To achieve success, you need both persistence and flexibility. When you face difficulties and unexpected problems, use all your persistence and determination to stick to your goals. But always stay flexible. If the way you do things now does not work, try another way. Keep trying until you find the one that works.

Don't change the ends, change the means. And never forget the difference between ends and means, between goals and objectives.

A goal is summarized in the phrase "a dream with a deadline," a goal is an observable and measurable end result having one or more objectives to be achieved within a more or less fixed timeframe. In comparison, a 'purpose' is an intention (internal motivational state) or mission. The question, "Has the goal been achieved?" can always be answered with either a "Yes" or "No." A purpose, however, is not 'achieved' but instead is pursued every day.
