New Grace

21 Days of Focused Prayer – Day 3
John 1:16, 17; 2Cor 12:9; Eph 2:8; Eph 4:7; Heb 4:16 NIV

Hebrews 4:16 (Amplified Bible)
Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God's unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it].

Grace is the medium or instrument through which God has affected the salvation of all believers. Grace is the sustaining influence enabling the believer to persevere in the Christian life. Grace is often defined as the “unmerited favor of God” but most importantly, it is God acting powerfully to do for you and I all those things which we could never do for ourselves.

Jesus experienced the full impact of every temptation; he knows our weaknesses so thoroughly that we never need to draw back from Him in shame. He knows what it means to be Human, so we can come with bold confidence to the throne of grace. We can be sure that He will extend us mercy when we fail and will provide help to meet our needs when we require strength to overcome as he did.
