I currently work for a company that makes hand carried ultrasound equipment. This equipment is used in a lot of Emergency Rooms and Intensive Care Units because of its small size and portability. For the last year an a half part of my job has been to train the sales team on how to connect the equipment to the hospital network. Well today I had to put my money where my mouth was. I actually went down to a Doctors office on 1st Hill in Seattle and installed one of our systems onto the hospital network.
I prepared the training materials I use in my classes by reading the technical documentation and everything made sense to me and seemed pretty straight forward. I have had many complements on the classes I give because I translated the “Geek Speak” in to a language that our sales team could understand. But the truth is I had never done an actual installation. So today was interesting because I was going to be by myself and could look real dumb in front of the customer if I didn’t get the stuff working.
Well not only did I get it working, but it only took me 20 minutes and half of that was waiting for the IT guy to fix the patch panel to activate the network port in the Doctors office. Not only was I able to do it, but I just validated that my teaching materials are really quite good and almost anyone could do it.
Oh Happy Day.

Everything you put your hands to will always prosper. Way to go Karen. That was a milestone for you.
Can't wait to hear the next accomplishment you do.
