A few years ago I made a choice to change the way I think. I made the choice to look at the circumstances, obstacles, trials and challenges that come as opportunities. Instead of being “a victim of circumstances” I take advantage of the opportunity. Every instance in our life is an opportunity to learn, overcome and grow. By looking at them as opportunities it allows me to see them as positive events instead of negative events.
This is a learned behavior for me and it has been very valuable. Now don’t get me wrong it is not always my first reaction, but I have been doing it long enough now that it doesn’t take me too long change my thoughts, usually in a few hours at the most.
I even like to use scriptures – Karen’s version
James 1:2,3
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face Opportunities of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.
1 Peter 1:5-7 (New International Version)
who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had all kinds of Opportunities. These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all Opportunities, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
So let your opportunities today lead you to a new level.
