Pray the Specifics

This week I had a little reminder that at times we need to be specific in our prayers.

Back on the May 22nd I wrote about feeling as if I’m being used at work. Well I did accept the new position but I have also been applying for several positions at different companies. On Monday when my new position took effect, I received an email from a friend and she said that she was praying that I would hear back on the jobs that I have applied for.

On Monday afternoon I received a call from one of the companies that I had previously applied with and they said they had a short-term contract position open and wondered if I was interested. I told them no thanks; I was only looking for a full time position.

On Tuesday I told my friend that I needed her to pray a little more specific and pray for a full time position and she said she would more specifically. Low and behold Tuesday afternoon I got contacted about scheduling a phone interview with a different company looking to fill a full time position. I had to laugh and called my friend and told reminded her that “the prayers of a righteous woman avail much.” James 5:16b

So remember that God loves it when we get specific with our prayer request.
