During this last year, we renamed our home The Intern Inn, because on many occasions we had three or even four of the ten interns in this years class spend the night. We had two that were our full time interns, Josh and Juan. I can’t say that we spent a lot of time with either one of them due to very different schedules, but being a host home was an interesting experience.
Things I learned from the Interns:
- Young men will sleep until the very last moment.
- Young men take more time in the shower than any woman I know
- Young men can sleep through just about anything, including the noise from the garage door opener hung just below their bed.
- Young men love to invade the refrigerator at 11pm
- If you don’t want leftovers invite the interns over for dinner.
- If you DO want leftovers you need to HIDE them.
- Young men’s voices can penetrate most walls at 1am.
- Young men just need a little direction some time.
This morning I said goodbye to Juan as he is heading home to Texas and Josh will move out today. So as of tonight The Intern Inn is closed for remodeling and restocking.
