Words - Part 2

Yesterday I was working with a group here at work and as we were finishing our task I said “Cool”. Then I corrected myself and said “Sweet” and we all laughed. I told them I was trying to change my demographic and use the new words I had learned from the interns.

Then there was the conversation with a friend where she told me that recently she had given a gift to someone and they told her to “Shut Up”. She explained that at first she had been hurt and then it was explained to her that it was a Good Shut up and meant ‘you kidding right, that is awesome’.

Here is a short list of idioms that are a part of our culture and language, I challenge you to keep track of how many times in your daily speech you use an idiom, I think we all would be amazed. Let me know if you have others.
